Photo exhibit – Platform Zero

Manfred Menzel, Mitglied von new-camera e.V.

To the right of the main entrance of the station, is the somewhat hidden access to platform zero. Platform zero, is not normally accessible to the public. A section of Offenbach station below tracks 1, where there are two connected vaulted rooms, each containing a photo exhibition by Manfred Menzel. The first, the flashlight gallery contains "Modern Cave Paintings" and other photographs of "Lost Places" (Thorer, MAN, Naxos-Werke etc.). The room is mostly dark. To see the picture, visitors need flashlights, which are handed out at the entrance. (The number of available flashlights is limited, which means that the number of visitors is also limited to number of flashlights at hand).

In the second room, colorful construction steel is bathed extensively in soft light and visitors find themselves in a surreal space.

URBAN ART PROJECTION

Manfred Menzel, Mitglied von new-camera e.V.

new-camera e.V. was founded in January 2006. Our work is mainly in the area of digital technology, with photography very much in the foreground, in an artistic and technical respect. Since the beginning, we have made it our task to introduce the public to the art of photography, both as viewer, as well as guest or active photographer in the course of our association activities.
