Digitization has created an abstract world of data, media and algorithms. Social media, artificial intelligence, machine-learning and block-chain technology are shaking up firmly established social structures. What nuances can be found in sober numerical series and digital aesthetics? Is there a digital romanticism? BE\\\LONGING artistically examines these questions.

The façade of the Alte Oper, which is peppered with mythological and poetic motifs, depicts a journey from linear, digital structures to sensual plays of light and a dreamlike experience of seemingly impossible scenarios. Beyond figurative representation, information carriers and wild spectacle, we glide through atmospheric structures of virtual architecture, where we lose and find ourselves anew, connect and resonate.

Xenorama

How can a space be poetically designed using modern media? This is the question explored by the quintet of internationally award-winning Artists Collective Xenorama, whereby they have found diverse forms of expression at the interface of film, sound, installation and performance. The artists, each with a different creative focus, intriguingly combine modern technologies with a fine sensitivity for atmospheric dramaturgy.
